Finally, a game that rewards you for wasting time and killing kittens. What could be more enticing to an 18-25 year old male? Samurai Kittens was a viral micro-site/game created to increase awareness for the anime mini-series Samurai 7 on IFC.
3 Million people have played the game 65.339 or a full 2% of all people playing the game submitted their high score. The average length of game play was 19 moinutes! The top scorer logged over 19 hours of game plague. The top 1000 registered scores all logged over 1 hour of game play.
Summary:
COG1 created a truly viral campaign for TransWorld Entertainment, the largest music and movie retailer in the US with nearly 900 stores.
With no other marketing except one email sent to the COG1 database of Gen X & Y trendsetters, 21% or approximately half a million people visited the website. Users spent an average of 5 minutes 24 seconds interacting with the advertisement, sending over 27,000 holiday ecards to their friends. (that means over 5% of all people that came to the site created and send an ecard.) Also, 7% of all site visitors clicked through to the clients’ websites.
Summary:
An email and microsite to support the release of a new CD from MCA Records & Ministry of Sound. COG1 not only developed the award winning design but we crafted the promotion and marketing strategy and managed the technical requirements.
Looks awesome, worked great. 13% of the people who received the email spent an average of 7 seven minutes interacting with the email and entering the sweeps.
Summary:
This little project kept finding new and newer uses by the client. Originally commissioned as a motion graphics piece for a sales presentation, it soon found itself as the intro animation on the clear channel website. From there it was sent out as a holiday email. Finally, this little project got it’s break and ended up on TV as a 30 sec spot.

When it comes to advertising for the youth market nobody knows that demo better than PlayStation… and that’s why PlayStation asked COG1 to create all print and interactive advertising in support of the 3 year run of PlayStation’s DualPlay’s live music event series.
